We are honored to be able to list several pieces from his extensive collection.Ref# 00592: PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS ONE OF TWO OF OUR 1967 DANELECTRO SITARS - PLEASE READ EACH DESCRIPTION AS THEY SLIGHTLY DIFFER! One of the coolest, rarest pieces from Jim's collection is this 1967 Danelectro Vincent Bell Coral Electric Sitar  You can really "Paint It Black" with this thing. While Jim would sometimes play a 12 string on records, you could also hear a sitar now and again, particularly on "Freak City Soundtrack". The guitar features two "lipstick tube" pickups for the guitar strings and one "lipstick tube" pickup under the sympathetic or "drone" strings. The drone strings are cradled by two Rosewood bridges with fret material as saddles giving a sound similar to an autoharp. The bridge has been replaced with a Gotoh "Buzz Bridge" that just rips! Vincent Bell's name can be found on the translucent pick guard. The sitar is in good condition with typical player wear being thrown around on stage, thrown in the tour bus, loaned to an farmer in Illinois as a rake, but as this was a touring and recording guitar it's in fair condition. I would give it a strong 7/10 condition if not better. It has it's nicks but for being on the road, it is in good condition! This sitar weighs 7lbs 11oz and comes with a hardsell case. This purchase will come with a Material Issue sticker from their former label, Mercury Records. In our over 30 years of business, Customer Service has always been of the utmost importance to us.
