This version has the incredibly sought after Doghair finish and comes sporting a Pearloid scratch plate with some other tasty features. Built in Austin Texas by Bill Collings and his skilled team, this guitar exudes musical class and has been designed and crafted from the bottom up to perform with a sense of the understated and ready for anything. This is a real players tool and not just an instrument for hanging on the wall or collecting. The 290 range is all about the player and the performance, having said that they also look terrific and none more so than when in doghair with a Pearl plate. This guitar is one of the most inspirational and responsive we have ever come across and will put many of the golden era model that we have all placed on pedestals to shame. A hard working incredibly intuitive simple and elegant design packed with astonishing class and offering an all round premium playing experience.We love the simple elegant and understated appointments, and feel this helps ensure this range is particularly easy on the eye. Named for the scenic 290 highway that winds past the Collings shop though the Texas Hill Country, the 290 is a modern day tribute to the original working man's rock'n roll guitar. A solid mahogany body and neck are complimented by two Lollar Soap Bar P90 pickups for a tone that shows off the amazing harmonic range and dynamics of this often underrated configuration.
