Straight from the late 80s and early 90s, the best of the best.  Imagine eight DX7 synths in a single box.  This box is 4U high and has a full rack of TF-1 modules, each with a new battery.
This has been in my non-smoking studio for over 10 years.  I can't play anymore, so it has to go.  Otherwise, there's no chance I'd ever let it go.
The creamiest multi-layered DX sounds at full polyphony and, for me, simply a joy to play.  Whatever FM does, this can do eight times better, I think.  Only, unlike the DX7, these TF-1 modules also store all the Performance Parameters.  Very nice.
Pretty rare.  Very vintage.  A worthy addition to any working studio or avid collector.
Comes with original owner's manual, in that it's the original pages and they've been 3-hole punched and place in a binder.  I am told this is the original way it was done, but I'm also told they bound these.  Regardless, this is the manual.  At the back of the manual are all the setting sheets for the super factory installed sounds.
Speaking of sounds, this reads all the mountains of DX7 sounds that are out there right now.  You can mix and match and layer and zone-assign to your heart's content - that's what I did, anyway - and stack them up eight deep at full polyphony.
It has the little quick guide that pulls out.  Still there.  Still nice a legible though if you're like me, you'll do everything via MIDI, anyway.  But it's nice to have.
As you can see from the photos, it's clean and ready to rack.
As you can also see, there is an audio out on each TF-1 module.  This is an XLR connector for easy studio integration.  There is also a MIDI i/o on each module.  You don't need eight MIDI cables because the chassis has a MIDI i/o on the front.  And that's where it gets flexible.  Each module has a switch to talk to the common MIDI - the one on the front - or you can have it listen to the individual MIDI - the one on the back.  Very cool.
I could go on and on about how it's got features and sounds that I really like, but if you've stuck with me this far, you already know all that.
Comes with an attached power cord.  Pretty long, too.  I'll throw in a MIDI cable.
Bid with confidence.  I take care of my customers.
