This is a vintage Holton H-179 "Farkas" Double French Horn. This instrument was developed and designed with the help of Philip Farkas. It is a solid nickel silver Kruspe wrap symphonic double horn. It is in very good condition, and plays very well. The valves move well with good compression and the slides all move. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there is one small ping, some scratching and etching throughout the horn and the bell flare has one small wrinkle. The engraving on the bell reads "Holton Elkhorn Wis." and the leadpipe reads "H179". The minor imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of them affect the playability of the horn. This instrument comes with a hardshell case, an outer leather case, and a mouthpiece in good condition.
Priced to sell, this professional quality horn is an excellent choice for the advanced student, or for the backup instrument for the professional player.
