Up for sale, a 1977 Wurlitzer model 200A piano in excellent condition and in good working order. This Wurlitzer is a clean and well kept example with original chrome legs and brand new sustain pedal and music stand courtesy of Vintage Vibe! This keyboard is extremely original and has seen little use in the past nearly 40 years. The tone is notably clear and balanced with optimal headroom, and the piano has just been gone through by our techs to ensure ideal action, consistent voicing, and proper tuning. Widely considered to be the pinnacle of Wurltizer electric piano refinement, the 200A has ideal Wurly tone with a surprising amount of volume from the internal speakers, as well as through the 1/4" output. Thick, chimey, and nuanced, it's a tone that can stay particularly clean or overdrive smoothly when you play more aggressively. The piano has that signature growl and great midrange content with a tone that is defined and balanced, and an elegant action design that is simply a joy to play. The 200A has a responsive and smooth feel unlike any other electric piano! This piano is in great shape, with little wear to the hammer tips, a very responsive damper rail and action that is consistent and quick, with no sluggish notes or excessive side to side motion of the keys. The amp has a nice low noise floor with good volume and a focused, warm tone from the pair of original 5x7" speakers. In fact, the volume produced by the onboard speakers is noticeably cleaner and more robust than earlier Wurlitzer models and a great tone for recording purposes in particular. The vibrato control has a strong pulse to it with a waveform that isn't too choppy, yet provides a very present tremolo effect. The CTS pots date to 1977 along with the original Schumacher transformer. The piano also boasts an updated IEC style three-prong power cable input.Cosmetically, the piano is in great overall condition with the original black plastic molded top. The top is a shiny, deep shade of black and is complete with the original knobs and brushed aluminum faceplate. The bottom of this piano (with original paper and metal labels) is quite clean, with only light wear around the edges. There are a few scuffs on the original faceplate and one tiny 1/4" hole on the left side of the top where the output jack was relocated at some time in the piano's life (we've put the jack back in its proper place on the underside of the piano). Overall, this is a clean and well maintained Wurly 200A, and as the photos show, this piano would display well in a studio!
