Please note that this guitar does not appear to be a fully original Fender guitar, although nearly all of the parts appear to have Fender origins.
This is a hard tail Stratocaster that was purchased or assembled by a famous local guitarist, who passed away 18 months ago. He played this during many live shows and he was certain this was a 1960s Stratocaster until he left us. After disassembling the guitar, it was clear this is not a completely original Stratocaster, but it did appear that the guitar was a parts guitar including what appears to be a refinished Fender body with a pickup configuration that includes "Fender vintage style cloth wiring and pick-ups with a five way switch." It also appears that the neck was customized with a compound radius that has a thinner neck profile similar to other manufacturers that cater to players demanding faster playing necks. I added photos of the back and the neck plate with a number that would indicate it is from 1954. The guitarist played an original 1954 Stratocaster for many years and this is not the same number, he collected and assembled many guitar parts and I know he had many neck plates, although the plate has an aged look the number stamping does not appear authentic to me.The most important thing is the guitar plays and sounds great like a Stratocaster should. Comes with TKL hard shell case, a $135 value (if purchased new).
