The Fender Big Block Telecaster was introduced in 2005 and lasted through 2006.  It was part of the Deluxe series of Mexican made guitars which included the Nashville Telecaster and Nashville power telecaster.  This model never caught on so it was discontinued after two years.  The pickups were wound a little hotter to make it more appealing to players seeking a fuller sound.  To my ears, it's a little thicker and less brittle sounding than a normal 2 pickup Tele.  The guitar features 3 telecaster single coil pickups with a 5 way switch, 21 medium jumbo frets, block inlays, a six saddle bridge, chrome pick guard and a chrome selector switch.  The body is made of alder and was only offered in black.  Lot of eye candy in this one.  The guitar came with a gig bag and had a suggested retail price of $1100 with a street price between $700 to $725.The overall condition of this guitar is very good. The neck fits tightly in the neck pocket and the craftsmanship is exellent.  Hard to find fault with these Mexican made guitars.  The finish on the front of the instrument is superb.   It does show some light pick scratches on the pick guard.  There is one small chip on the back of the instrument about the size of a pen tip but other than that the finish on the back is also very good.  The neck, knobs, bridge, tuning keys, frets are in as new condition.  No fret wear as this instrument has been lightly played.  The neck has a C shaped profile and is slightly thicker other C shaped neck profiles I've played.  Straight and true and the truss rod adjustment is in the head stock much better than placing it in the bottom of the neck.  The switching offers the same basic tones of a two pickup Tele with the exception that the neck and bridge pickup together is unavailable.  Positions 2 and 4 have that "quack" sound associated with a Stratocaster but the sound is slightly different due to the Telecaster pickups.  Different but good.  The bridge on this instrument features six way saddles for individual string intonation and it's a thicker piece of iron.  Chromed beautifully.  In my opinion, this bridge is a definite improvement over the "ash tray" types.  This is a very capable instrument appropriate for all styles of music.  Well maybe not Jazz. This guitar will be shipped in a hard shell case then placed in a cardboard box.  Like the guitar, this case is in very good condition and includes a key for the locks.  I ship FEDEX ground and have never had a shipping issue.  Your signature will be reqired upon delivery.
