For sale: A rare 1989 Ibanez 540P (aka 540PII Alex Skolnick). These guitars were only made for two years (1989 and 1990) and very difficult to find. This is the real deal and not a custom built clone. Made in Japan (Fujigen)ConditionThe neck is straight and the guitar plays wonderfully with low action and no fret buzz. The frets show minimal wear and there are no indentations. There is no crack at the locking nut which is a typical problem for these old Ibanez guitars. All electronics work and the guitar retains it's original IBZ C2 neck pickup and an IBZ F2 in the bridge (both made by Dimarzio). I do have an extra F3 bridge pickup that's not in the guitar now (i was planning to use it for something else), but if important to the buyer I will sell it with the F3 instead of the F2 (more on this below). The guitar also has it's original Ibanez edge tremolo; there is some wear on the cosmo finish which is typical for a guitar this age with cosmo hardware. The paint on this guitar is very nice with no chips or dings and no neck pocket cracks. It has had a recent refinish and is beautiful. It's not 100% perfect as the guitar has been played but is very nice.Purchase OptionsI'm offering this guitar for sale with either an F2 or F3 pickup. I realize the rare F3 may be important to some people, while others may not want to spend extra money for it as the F2 is a great sounding pickup too. If the F3 is selected I will install that prior to shipping, otherwise it will ship as pictured with the F2. I need one or the other for a project so i'm not selling both :)I'm also giving the option to buy the guitar with a rare Ibanez chainsaw type hardshell case, or a soft case for someone who already has a case and wants to get the best price possible on the guitar.
