Fender Japan stratocaster ST57-65 Vintage Reissue
This is a Fender Japan ST57 (1957) Stratocaster vintage reissue. Just in case you are unfamiliar with Fender Japan (made in Japan MIJ or crafted in Japan CIJ ), these guitars are known for the superb craftsmanship and quality. In fact, many guitar players, even professionals prefer these guitars over some US made counterparts. Since these Japanese made Fenders are not allowed in US (new), in recent years, these guitars are becoming harder to find, especially the older ones such as this one.Condition: This is a Fender Japan Stratocaster ST57-65 Vintage reissue. This is one of the early examples of the Fender JV guitars.  The neck date is 7-7-82. The serial number is JV08347. It has the JV correct large Fender logo with MADE IN JAPAN on the head. There is a "C" stamp in the neck pocket. This guitar is in a great condition for a 35 year-old guitar although there are some small dents on the body, some wear on the fret board, and some metal parts show some aging (please see the pictures). It has a very straight, thin (for 57) C-shape neck with the some frets wear, but still perfectly playable. The neck pickup and middle pickup are red bobbins, and the bridge pickup has been replaced with a US made pickup. The pots are Japanese made. This guitar sounds as one would expect from a typical JV series Stratocaster; very vintage like. After all, this is why these guitars became so popular all over the world! It has the signature Strat sound but not too bright like newer ones; it has that mild suppressed twang to it - closer to the real vintage. Well, one thing for sure is - my writing skill doesn't do justice to the sound of this guitar!!
Lastly, this guitar is not in a mint condition for a museum piece. It has been played and should be played. The guitar weighs 7 Lbs 11 oz. (3.5kg) It comes with a lacquered tweed  case in a great condition. (non Fender) Shipping : $65 for domestic shipping by USPS priority mail.
