| | Vintage 1962 Fender Stratocaster. Pre CBS. This strat was kept in a closet for many years. Body and neck have been refinished a long time ago. all original except finish and wammy bar and maybe pots as explained below. slabboard. thick slabboard. pickguard has no cracks but it has shrunk some. headstock has had non original tuners at one time. frets have some wear but no bad buzzing. I have never gigged this guitar only recordings. tone to die for. neck is chunky. plays very well. pots have dates clearly. very clean. awesome axe. hate to sell. It has come to my attention that the pots might not be original. they start with 137 which would make them CTS pots but the inner color is off. I really dont know. I bought this guitar from an old man, a friend who never played it. he bought it in 1962. he had it refinished and had some other tuners installed. most of the time the guitar was in a closet. i bought it in the very early 1980 and also put it in a closet due to college and working. i took it out to do some home recording here recently and decided to sell since i mostly play acoustic when i do play. I've never changed anything but strings. the solder looks old. I had it checked out in Austin years ago and was told it was original except for finish. i will lower the price to make up for the potts in case they are nonoriginal . usa mainland only. non original case. will only ship to confirmed address of buyer.
