This is a fantastic replica ofa1955 telecaster built by the inimitable John Elliot of Bravewood guitars in Cornwall. When I bought it from John he told me that he had built it for a personal friend and as such he had included some special features, such as the shaved treble side on the tea tray bridge to provide unimpeded access to the treble strings for the strumming hand and offset brass saddles for improved intonation and super jumbo frets for easier bends with a lighter touch for the fretting hand and an amazingly light weight swamp ash body.(the whole guitar only weighs 6lbs 10.9oz) all finished in Bravewood'trademark paper thin butterscotch nitrocellulose with his stunning unmatched heavy aging recreating 60 years of gigging and life. It came fitted with a pair of bare knuckle '55 staggered pole pickups and I have swapped the bridge pick up for a Bare knuckle flat pole 51broadcaster pickup, which has quite a high output to push the amplifier and contrast with the more delicate neck pickup whilst still working very well in the middle mixed position at the same time I extended the wires from the neck pick up and turned the control plate around so that the volume control falls more easily under your right hand and to make it harder to accidentally knock the pickup selector when strumming. The neck is a wonderfully straight heavily figured birds eye maple high manages to be both chunky and slim-it's quite deep but narrow across the fret board, it's a very nice C-shap without having big shoulders.Regardless of it's amazing features, the biggest attraction of this guitar, aside from it's playabilityis it's fantastic sound- I have always found it amazing how rich john manages to make all his fender style guitars sound with a rich warm midrange that I have never heard in anyother fender style instrument regardless of manufacturer I find they always tend to sound thin in the middle all treble and if you're lucky a little bass. The finish is quite  heavily "reliced" with lots of lacquer crazing and checking of  the vintage style nitrocellulose, all in all an absolutely amazing guitar that I will certainly regret selling. Comes with its original hiscox liteflite case and bareknuckle '55 staggerred pole bridge pickup.
