Up for sale, a 2010 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Special in exceptional, near mint condition and in perfect working order. Finished in transparent, faintly limed TV Yellow nitro lacquer and sporting a pair of upgraded Tyson Tone Labs P-90 pickups (originals also included) this is an incredible Historic series Custom Shop reissue. These pickups take full advantage of the resonant and warm sounding solid mahogany body, with the sweetness, incredible dynamics and midrange grind for which the P-90 is known. The Tyson "Classic 50s" Soapbar set features roughcast alnico IV magnets at the neck and alnico II magnets for the bridge pickup. The magnets are charged individually to very specific levels matching vintage P-90 magnets that have been tested for optimal sound, balance, and dynamics, and the pickups are wound with 42 gauge plain enamel wire, reading 7.3k ohms in the neck position and 8.2k at the bridge. Paired with the stock bumblebee caps and wiring harness, this is simply a wonderful sounding Special, and it weighs in at only 7lbs 12oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, we've dialed in the setup with 10-46 strings and low, comfortable action. The one-piece mahogany neck profile has Gibson's quintessential "baseball bat" chunky C shape, with plenty of girth and roundness. The profile shoulders are very full, and the profile fills the palm while still being very easy to chord. It's the sort of neck profile that adds substantially to the resonance, sustain, and richness of the tone. The rosewood fretboard features virtually untouched fretwire with perfectly rounded crowns and no buzzing or dead spots up the neck. It's the sort of precision and effortless playability that one expects from Gibson's Custom Shop. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features the stock Kluson Deluxe tuners, Gibson pearl logo, and an inked serial number.
All of the electronics work as they should, with the aforementioned Tyson Tone Labs pickups and stock Bumblebee tone caps (stock P-90s are included if you'd like to revert to the stock sound, but the Tysons really outperform the original pickups in every capacity). The stock hardware is all immaculate and the black plastic parts contrast nicely with the TV Yellow finish. Not as bold and primary as some modern TVs, this finish is very authentic to a true '50s nitro lacquer gloss finish with just the right amount of saturation and faint limed appearance. There are a few tiny nicks and a couple faint scratches in the clear coat of the finish, but overall this is a minty example of one of Gibson's best Custom Shop Historic reissues.

The original "Gibson Custom" hardshell case with crushed red velvet interior is included and also in great shape. The original COA and a few hangtags are also present.
