We are honored to be able to list several pieces from his extensive collection.Ref# 00595: This 1959 all original Framus Billy Lorento/Bill Lawrence Series Model 5/120 hollowbody guitar was quite possibly the only Jazz guitar Jim owned. This guitar is in incredible shape for its age and for it being a touring/recording axe. This auburn 'burst archtop is made of a Spruce top with Maple bottom & sides. The neck is a solid as a rock! Not many 5/120's were produced with the pearl inlay design you see on this Framus (most were made with a three star inlay) making this even cooler. The fingerboard is made of Rosewood with truly gorgeous FAT pearloid block inlays. This is a sweet playing guitar and with the very early Bill Lawrence pickups it has boatloads of tone. There is a an extra strap hole filled in at the top of the neck. This guitar weighs 6lbs and comes with its original hardshell case!Billy Lorento was a psedonym (and not the only one) for Willi Lorenz, who also goes by Bill Lawrence, the luthier and pick-up genius. Not only did he help create this guitar and help with Framus' legacy but he worked with Gibson and Dan Armstrong after coming to the US.In our over 30 years of business, Customer Service has always been of the utmost importance to us.
