This is a rare Gibson Futura guitar for salvage, made in USA circa 1983. The Futura was similar to the Corvus 2 except it had a neck-through design, an ebony fret board and a sleeker body that tapers towards the bottom by the lower strap peg. These were only produced for a couple of years. This one was factory routed for a Kahler type that utilizes the TOM mounts. This is a project guitar that will require a full complement of hardware and electronics. The neck is straight, the truss rod works well. The low, wide Gibson frets show minor to moderate wear. The guitar was non-professionally resprayed in a Ferrari red finish that shows flaws. There are no mods or structural damage, the only damage to the wood is in the rear where a small hole was drilled, presumably to remove the rear TOM mounting bushing (pic 10).This item comes exactly as pictured and ships free only within the contiguous 48 United States.
