It works wellfor the gong that is played occasionally, struck once to celebrate a sale, or to announce dinner or a guest.This Gong Stand does NOT work for intense and hard yogic playing. Made similarly to the Chau Gong, in this case the gong makers do not peel off the outside layer of bronze to make it shinier. In this manner, the gong does not crash or splash or get into a wash of tones as readily as any of the other gongs that are shiny, like the Chocolate Drop, or Wind Gong, Subatomic etc.So not only is its look very mystical and deep, so is its sound. It doesn't like to crash. It is good for being meditative or keeping the mood profound.Some older videos below will help to show you how this amazing gong sounds. HOWEVER, please note in REAL LIFE, when you are standing by the gong, it is much deeper and more comprehensive in its tone. These are just samples.The Vietnamese Bamboo Stand:Well Mom and Dad....there are many many species of bamboo, and they grow much faster than tress. Some bamboo plants can grow up to a yard - meter - in a single day. Bamboo reaches its full size within 3 to 4 months, and within 3 to 7 years the stalk hardens enough for use in construction.Bamboo grows in many climates and is native to most of the world. And this is cool, Mom and Dad - because bamboo is a grass, it does NOY require replanting.Bamboo also absorbs more than two times the carbon dioxide that trees do and generates 35 percent more oxygen, making bamboo growing more important due to global deforestation.Bamboo also rocks against soil erosion, uses less water than trees, keeps water in watersheds, and helps lower water pollution due to its high consumption of nitrogen and tendency to absorb pollutants like heavy metals.Damn Bamboo!
