Up for sale, a 1995 Fender '72 reissue Telecaster Custom in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in Japan and intended only for the domestic market, this Telecaster is a faithful and very well crafted reissue, embodying everything that makes the Telecaster Custom model so versatile and fun to play. From the original Fujigen factory run of Tele Customs, this "Made in Japan" instrument has sleek black cosmetics and has survived the last two decades in remarkable shape. With a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a traditional Tele single coil at the bridge, this Tele has a very wide tonal spectrum, from thick, meaty humbucker tones in the neck position to chiming, twangy single coil tones at the bridge. Of course the middle position is truly a "best of both worlds setting," and the two pickups balance well both in terms of output and their respective tonal attributes. Weighing in at 7lbs 12oz, this guitar has a pleasing, crisp acoustic tone with solid sustain that translates well through the pickups. We've had this Tele professionally setup here at our shop, Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, and it's currently strung with 10-46 strings, and comfortable, slinky action. The one-piece maple neck has a well rounded medium C shaped profile that borders on the slimmer side of things, with plenty of roundness in the shoulders and a very solid feel without too much chunk. The gloss finished maple fretboard boasts original, vintage style fretwire that shows only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-4, with virtually no wear further up the neck and well rounded fret crowns. The scale length is the traditional 25 1/2", while the fretboard radius also matches vintage spec at 7 1/4", and the nut has a 1 5/8" width. On the headstock, the original Gotoh branded tuners turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should. All of the electronics work well, with each pickup wired to independent Volume and Tone knobs, in addition to a brand new Switchcraft three-way toggle pickup selector switch. The plastic parts and chrome hardware show no notable wear, and the gloss black finish is remarkably clean, with only a few extremely faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the back. This is a very clean instrument and a great example of the quality instruments produced by Fender Japan.A Fender gigbag is included.
