Description
Exact Year: 1952 Model: Les Paul Gold Top
Brand: Gibson

This is a  1952  Gold Top with P-90 soap bar pickup with a trapeze tailpiece attached (similar to model ES295).  There is no serial number on the back of head stock.  This is the fact this tailpiece did not installed after 1953 and the new version of  one "stud" tailpiece replacing it. This is one of  first production of LP and still have "Pat. Pending" label on the tailpiece's bottom and Gibson had not come up with a serial-number scheme on or before 1952.   All LP models started from 1953-1960 come with serial number. 1952 models may or may not. But you can probably find a rare 1953 model with this type of  Trapeze tailpiece. Understand that this LP model drafted/designed around 1951/1950 by Les Paul himself with his partners. I spent a lot of difficult time researching in 70-90's  due to Gibson did not distribute enough official info. My LP comes with an original case and the hardware all original even the screws with the pearl inlay logo on the headstock. Let me know if you have questions.
