YAMAHA YFL-681 (784) SOLID SILVER OPEN-HOLE FLUTE Up for auction is a Yamaha YFL-681 (784) SOLID SILVER OPEN-HOLE FLUTE - C-foot, inline G. The YFL- 681 is a professional model with solid silver keys and white gold springs. It was then upgraded to the 700 series (784 being the closed model).It features a solid silver body, French or open holes with inline G. The keys are 925 silver with French pointed key arms and drawn tone-holes. It has white gold springs.This flute comes with the original Yamaha solid silver headjoint. Both the headjoint, body and foot are unmarked except the Yamaha YFL-681 engraving on the body and logo on the head joint. Serial number of body and foot joint is 1079.The headjoint is free blowing and produces a very full, beautiful tone from low to high. It excels in the upper registers and it cracks notes very easily. I rate it very highly. I believe it is a hand made CY.The mechanism and keywork need adjustment but are certainly playable as is. There is a small amount of lateral movement in the keywork. The pads are in fair condition. The flute has minor surface scratches as to be expected. There are a few minor dings, but overall it presents well.It is a fantastic flute for the intermediate or advanced player. It has most of the benefits of Yamaha's handmade flutes without the price.I have priced this flute competitively - well below others on eBay because it will require adjustment and new pads in the future. The Yamaha case is old and the hinges are missing.I will pack it very well for domestic or international post.Check my feedback and buy with confidence.
