1960 Fender Telecaster Custom, Slab Board neck. This guitar features a body refinish in correct early 3 tone Sunburst by Fiesta Finishes™. The neck finish is original. The guitar has been professionally refretted, and the guard has been replaced. There was some inlay in the fingerboard, however, it has been removed, and filled. Otherwise, the guitar is original, including electronics, and hardware.The original finish in the neck pocket, pickup cavities, and control cavity, has been preserved.The slab board Telecaster Custom is certainly one of the most desireable guitars from the Golden Age of Fender. This particular example, is a celebrity guitar, owned by Kent Henry of Steppenwolf fame. Various bits of memorabilia are included with the guitar, including a photo of Kent playing this actual guitar.The serial number on the bottom stamped neck plate is 51XXX. The weight is 7.0 lbs. Original pickups measure 7.0K Ohms at the neck and 6.5K Ohms at the bridge. Neck date is 9-60, while body date is 10/60. Pots are coded 137 6036. The neck measures .816" at 1st fret and .972" at 12th fret, making this a medium profile, "C" shaped neck.The guitar ships in its original brown Tolex case. The case has some severe damage in the hinge area that could use some repair, however all latches are functional.This is an awesome sounding guitar, hard to beat good slab board Tele tone.
