This is a very rare, very interesting guitar. This is a 1972 Gibson SG Pro in TV Yellow. If you're familiar with the model, you'll know that they were only produced in Walnut and Cherry during the 70s but somebody decided that they wanted one in a custom color. My initial thought when seeing this guitar was that it was a refinish, but I dug a little deeper and upon carefully examining this guitar from headstock to strap pin, I haven't found a single spot that would indicate that this guitar was refinished. I took it under a blacklight and as clear as day, the nitrocellulose finish shines green as can be, meaning that this is indeed the original color.  The guitar is a factory second which essentially means that it had some minor flaw in the wood before it shipped out, which is probably why they chose this to be the guitar they applied the finish to. No one would be able to see a flaw in the walnut body once the guitar was finished in the custom color.  Almost every SG Pro from 72 has  bigsby, however the customer that asked for the custom color must have also wanted a stop tail. Somewhere along the way the neck had to be reset. The reset was performed by Brenden Mason from Real Guitars in Glen Iris, Australia. He's a real pro and did a fantastic job on it. The guitar is in great shape. There's some finish checking, but nothing major. No buckle rash and only a couple of dings in the finish. I'm proud to be selling such a rare and interesting instrument that sounds as amazing as this one. If you're a big fan of Gibson one-offs, you'll love this one.  The 70s weren't the best time for Gibson, and they produced a lot of really bad designs, and to be honest I'm not a big fan of most SG Pros. But this one with the stop tail and awesome color, the fantastic sounding P90s, and great neck really makes for a fantastic SG for any player or collector. The original bridge is in the case and will be included in the purchase of the guitar, but personally I prefer the bridge that's on the guitar a bit better. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures. I'm more than happy to assist you in finding the perfect guitar for you!
