1964 GRETSCH Vintage 6117 Double ANNIVERSARY Hollowbody GUITAR w/ OHSC. Made in USA. Serial # 75276. Good condition, clean, some wear / age. 100% working as it should electronically & sounding great! The finish has some light checking overall. There is some definite finish wear & smudges...mostly around knobs & switches. Some larger dings and scratches along the binding & on the top...nothing too severe, but a few are down to the wood. Some light buckle rash & a few finish chips on the back. There are a few small dings in the back of the neck, but the neck sets up nicely and plays very well all over the fretboard. Showing some fret wear, but mostly just the first 3 frets on the treble side. There is some definite fretboard wear on the treble side for the first 10 frets or so (see photos). Some of the finish on the headstock shows checking and there is a large finish crack along the center on the back of the headstock, as well as near the string posts on the front. Small crack in finish & binding near back strap button. None of the finish cracks appear to be into the wood and there is no indication of separation or weakness of any kind. There also seems to be some excess glue residue near the neck joint. This is only speculation, but it appears as though perhaps the binding started to peel & it was glued back into place. It looks & feels like a solid job, just looks a little messy. Includes original vintage hardshell case. The case is solid & all latches are intact & working, but it shows quite a bit of cosmetic wear...mostly on the edges. Much of the alligator style covering is missing or torn or taped together.
