Description

This is a great sounding vintage Guild Starfire IV Serial #EL 968 with as awesome looking finish and fantastic tone. The finish has faded just right and the binding has developed a great looking patina. This gives the guitar an authentic vintage look and vibe! This one has a very comfortable neck with a very nicely rounded profile and it really makes for great playability! The guitar is in very good shape for its age with just enough play wear to give it a cool vintage look! Condition: Very good shape overall! There are various scratches, small nicks and dings and some finish checking. The fingerboard and frets are in very good shape with only moderate play wear.  The neck is very comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions perfectly. Everything from the tuners to the tailpiece is original, straight from Hoboken.  Body: Double-bound semi hollow body with mahogany top, back and sides in cherry finish. Guild trapeze tailpiece with a rosewood-based nickel bridge with six individual saddles. Skirted control knobs with silver inserts, dual f-holes.  Pick guard is off but easily replaced with screws and hardware intact.  Neck: Very nicely rounded and instantly comfortable mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays. Pickups/Electronics: Original Guild pick ups. Dual volume and tone controls, a 3-way selector switch and a master volume control.  Gorgeous variable tone, a beautiful mix of the original Guild humbuckers and sound wood that aged to perfect resonance and global tone.  Any style you play is at your fingertips.   Essentially similar to Gibson 335 but brighter and punchier sound, without the ridiculous price.   Grab it.    Read Less
