Here we have another tone machine out of the collection. This 1974 Gibson Les Paul '55 Special reissue was Gibson's first attempt at replicating their original designs from the 50's golden era. The guitar is in excellent condition considering it's age and has a really beautiful vintage tobacco burst. As you can see in the pics the normal dings and dents from being played are there. Tuners were replaced at one time but the Gibson Deluxe are back on. The special has all of it's original plastics and ships in it's OHSC and all latches work. Now on to the cool stuff. This guitar has been upgraded with Harmonic Design Vintage Plus P90's (VP90's). Matched pair (individually wound for neck and bridge positions and optimized for blending) 500K pots with wide volume and tone controls. Now you have the combination of old wood and a pair of the best P-90's made today. The difference from what was there before are amazing. It opened the tone up and no more blanket on top of the guitars tone. These upgrades were over $400 installed. This is a guitar for a player who appreciates tone.
