This is a semi-handmade model 70 'Emeritus' silver flute with drawn tone holes, manufactured by Armstrong. Hand cut embouchure hole. Everything is made of solid silver - also the keys and the mechanism. The flute case is made of solid wallnut wood.Serial number: 27-31098. Year of manufacture: 1977. Pitch: A=440 Hz.Around 1960, Armstrong decided to launch a series of all-silver, both handmade and semi-handmade flute models:1) A thick-wall model 21 'Emeritus', built with a traditional flute- and key-design.2) A thin-wall standard model 'Heritage', using slim tubing and a more elegant key-design. (They actually also offered a custom made, completely handmade version of the 'Heritage' flute, made to order)However: During the 1970s, Armstrong stopped producing the 'Heritage' model. And they changed the original 'Emeritus' model number (21) - by renaming it: model 60.A new model 70 'Emeritus' flute (this one) was also being created by Armstrong during the 1970s. This model 70 was an all-silver lightweight flute, with an elegant key-design - obviously borrowed from the original 'Heritage' design. The flute is in excellent condition, and the pads are in very good condition with lots of life left.Due to the combined weight of the walnut case and the flute, the flute cannot be shipped as a registered letter. And since the combined weight exceeds 2 Kg, the flute and the case have to be dispatched as a package - which regrettably is a bit expensive.Shipping within the EU: £30 GBP (= 285 DKK)The rest of Europe (meaning; non-EU countries): £33 GBP (= 315 DKK)USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & Japan: £55 GBP (= 517 DKK)Thanks for looking - and happy bidding!
