RARE! RARE! RARE! From a special very limited run for Steve Miller in 1976. This is number 11 of 20. Pre-serial number. Pre-Iceman name. This is a truly once in a lifetime opportunity. Steve Miller was so impressed by the quality of these early Ibanez guitars that he became one of their first "rock star" endorsers. A custom one-off of this guitar that Ibanez built to Steve's specifications was the centerfold for Guitar World magazine Collectors Choice feature which is included. The guitar for sale here was part of a very early run for Steve Miller and was bought with the help of one of Steve's guitarists at the time that was a friend of the original owner. The base of the fretboard is stamped "Z11" which was an internal Ibanez identification number for this run of Steve Miller guitars. Ibanez made 20 of these and this is number 11. This is an incredibly rare and beautiful Ibanez that is in superb condition for its age! The ultra-rare triple coil pickup with four position selector switch provides unbelievable tonal possibilities ranging from a super charged humbucker to a bright and twangy Strat sound. It is perfectly balanced and beautifully contoured for endless enjoyment. The mahogany body is a work of art that must be seen and heard in person to fully appreciate. All the components were the best that Ibanez had to offer. The action and intonation are wonderful and all the electronics work. The frets show minor play wear and there are some very minor nicks on the wood surfaces but absolutely nothing major and no buckle rash. Overall incredible condition considering it's 40 years old! I'd give it a 9.5. This model was Ibanez's answer to the famous Gibson trademark lawsuit. Ibanez produced what for the time was a radical design to completely set themselves apart from the old school guitar companies. There was nothing else like it and it had the quality construction to quiet all doubters. This guitar would be the one to really launch Ibanez into what they are today. It is no coincidence that the Iceman and its variations are still be produced. The original case is included and is in good shape for its age with some seam separation and shelf wear. The interior is like new. It even has its original key and Ibanez accessories catalog. And, unbelievably, the original receipt is included along with the cash register tape! This guitar is easily as good as guitars costing $5,000 or more, but it has a pedigree and a rarity that puts it in another realmFrom a pet and smoke free environment. Blue tape on case is for inventory purposes only and will be removed prior to shipping. All guitars are packed extremely well and promptly shipped. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE! AND THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT FEEDBACK
