CASIO PG-380 MIDI GUITAR!RARE 1980's MIJ IBANEZ-BUILT STRAT WITH CASIO SYNTH ELECTRONICS!IN ORIGINAL CASE, WITH 3 CASIO VZ SOUND CARDS, COPY OF THE MANUAL, SOME LEADS, A STAND,PLUS THE MATCHING CASIO VZ-8M SYNTHESIZER MODULE!!!UPDATE!Thanks for all the interest in my PG380 so far, just to answer a couple of questions for everyone's benefit; strings are new in the last 6 months, pots are not noisy, as mentioned in the listing a used guitar can always benefit from a set-up, and in terms of condition it's 30 years old so I'm not suggesting it's immaculate, but it's a very nice clean example, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed, I hope the pics speak for themselves but if you need more just be specific and I'll try to oblige. In terms of price, I sold another of these we had in the studio last month for £400 as part of our ongoing clear-out of accumulated instruments (being a synth based producer these are the obvious choice of guitar, and we try to keep a spare of everything). That one had an issue with the triggering on one string so needed the attention of a tech, plus didn't have the cards or VZ-8M synth. Because this one I'm selling now has no issues in terms of the midi triggering and seems to have the original case I'm estimating it's worth £600. To be honest I've seen them sell in the US in not as good condition as this one for over £1k just for the guitar! But anyway, the VZ-8M is probably worth £200 or so, it's in lovely condition. The sound cards go for anything between £50 and £100 each, they really are hard to find and have numerous uses with other Casio gear of the era, so if we take an average of £75 on those then we have a bundle here that's worth well over £1000, with some leads and a folding stand thrown in. If you just want the guitar and not the other bits, get in touch and we can talk, I could probably sell the other items separately and make more money. But I'd rather it stay together as a bundle if possible. These are amazing instruments, some of the best midi tracking technology ever put into a guitar, in a guitar built by arguably the greatest guitar builders of the era (mid 1980's FujiGen Gakki, Japan), with built-in synth sounds from then Casio FZ range! Absolute top quality build and components, beautiful alder strat-style body with maple neck/ebony fingerboard, Gotoh hardware, very cool indeed. I'd planned to keep this one for ever but I'm not really using it to it's full potential, and the cash could be better used elsewhere in my studio.Plenty of info online about the PG/MG range, I won't go over the full specs and capabilities here. This is the best of the bunch!I've done my best with the pics but shiny black guitars are not the easiest to photograph! Most of the marks showing are reflections or fingermarks, it would probably benefit from a clean but I prefer to present it as it stands rather than tarting it up too much! It's in really nice condition, I'm a synth guy more than a guitar guy so am no expert on grading vintage guitars or whatever but the frets look great, neck looks straight, stays in tune for ever and the built-in tuning function works as it should, all 6 strings are triggering the internal synth sounds fine, it's good to go. Casio midi guitars of this era can be prone to a capacitor failure over time which affects the midi tracking (they have 6 little caps I believe which can naturally degrade and just need replacing) but this instrument doesn't seem to be showing any symptoms of this. Minor age-related wear and tear, a few marks here and there but no cracks or dings down to the wood, superficial stuff, nothing you wouldn't expect from a guitar that's 30 years old and has been played, bit of light buckle rash, slight chip to the black lacquer on the tip of the headstock, I've tried to show everything in the pics but if you need more just let me know, it's sold as seen. All hardware looks original to me, the original whammy bar is included, all the 'ports' on the back of the body have the little rubber covers, the little numerical display is nice and bright, it's a great example of this rare guitar that was the top of the range Casio midi guitar at the time. And it sounds absolutely amazing, whether running the internal synth sounds or just as a top end electric guitar. You might want to get it set up, I really haven't used it much, just been looking pretty alongside all my synths! Comes in an unusual vintage leather or leatherette guitar case which is a very nice item in itself, love the way it zips all the way around, the shape of the cut-out which holds the guitar looks a perfect fit so I think this could well be the original case, case has light wear and tear but has done it's job of protecting the guitar throughout it's life beautifully. There's a good bound copy of the manual included along with a modern UK 9V PSU (guitar is tested on mains and batteries, all good, battery compartment clear of leaks). Also included is the rare Casio VZ-8M synth module, designed to pair with the PG380 and allow transfer of sounds using rom cards. It's a stand-alone synthesiser in it's own right using the classic Casio engine of the time, but has a 'Midi Guitar mode' specifically designed to complement the PG range. This unit works perfectly, nice bright display, and UK 3 pin power lead included. Also include are 3 rarer-than-rare rom sound cards; 1 x 'VZ RC100', 1 x VZ-1 RC100', and 1 x VZ TOKIO COLLECTION RC-120'. These cards don't come up often on their own, let alone 3 at once, and I've seen the 'Tokio Collection' one go for silly money on the seldom occasion one appears!!!Price is for everything pictured, so the PG380 guitar, the VZ-8M synth module, case, 3 cards, manual, folding guitar stand, plus (not pictured) the original black trem bar, a long midi cable and a long guitar lead. The dream Casio midi guitar bundle! Only selling due to lack of studio space and trying to force myself to only hang on to the gear I use every day.Short 3 day listing (I'm going on holiday soon so speedy sale required!), cash on collection offers looked upon favourably! Happy to ship it though, in it's case boxed within a guitar shipping case, with any luck the synth module will fit in the same box too, if not they'll be in separate boxes.Check my feedback for 100% confidence; I list honestly and sell fairly.11 or so years on EBay, all positive feedback, I'm only happy if you're happy! Will ship anywhere with UK and EU (fast, trackable and fully insured), and I promise it'll be REALLY well packaged.Obviously this will be a large box or potentially even 2 boxes given the synth module, so shipping costs reflect this. I don't seek to profit from postage, only to get this precious vintage item to you swiftly and safely.Cash on collection welcome too, I'm near Malvern, 15 mins off the M5.Any questions please ask, and good luck!
