The tuba is pitched in Eb and made by John F Stratton. The instrument as Berliner Pumpen Valves in working condition.  The name is in a shield and reads  John F Stratton New York.The bore is about .650 and the lead pipe is large, the slide are all in working condition and can be pulled. 
Stratton started in 1859 in New York, as of 1864 he was operating as Stratton & Foote, by 1889 joined with his son as Stratton and Son.Since the instrument does not have a water key, it is a guess that is was produced by Stratton prior to 1864.   The Berliner valve was developed by Stolzel in 1827.From the collection of The Brass Players Museum - Springfield MassachusettsPlease search on  seller  "tbn"  to find the other items I have for sale.
