This beauty is a creation of mine that was built in 2014-15. I found an old flood damaged (destroyed) German or Italian accordian and proceeded to let my imagination go to work here. The body: It’s actually an inch wider on the lower bout, more like a P bass than a strat body. (very comfy, very dry/resonent/very light) made of 4 solid 1 inch blocks of (AT LEAST) 150 year old Poplar that I salvaged from Church pews from a local church that relocated. The stair steps (different body thicknesses) are ALL carved into the solid body block. There are no body plate laminates. The stair steps are all bound in Checkerboard or black and white striped bindings. See pic’s. All of the ornimental parts are from the Capitol Deluxe! ALL the accordion parts are carved/recessed deeply into the guitar top and headstock. see pics.
The one inch band of Pearloid (mother of toilet seat) was cut from the accordian and fitted to the body. Deluxe hand rubbed 3 tone black/blue/green lacquer gloss finish. The back is Black gloss Lacquer. Neck: Solid 1 piece (added headstock wings with SPECIAL THUMB CARVE.
All AAA Flamed Canada Maple. Fretboard Domestic AAAA Flamed Maple.
Standard med. frets. Circle dot markers are made of black fiberglass and Bamboo.
White side dot markers. SNAZZY two tone blue/green fade Gloss Laquer finish.
Med/jumbo neck profile with a C shape. 4 screw neck plate (Fend#^style).Headstock: Grover Mini tuners, Deluxe Thumb carve' just for fun. It really does feel good when carrying it around. The studs or TEETH an i call them, are the brass rivets with wood collars that were used to hold the accorian together.
The pearled inset ARCHED cone has about 40 nice little diamonds in it. Just like the one behind the tailpiece. All jewels are intact. There is a carved veloute on the back of the neck where it meets the head.Electronics: One Custom Jerry Sentell Anomaly HOT wound single coil, reads 11.5 on the ohm meter.
Very cool pickup with lots of tones just using the wo knobs. The two accordion switches are just for
