A piece of Gibson history! The original 1957 Moderne is considered to be the rarest Gibson guitar in existence (if one actually still exists). It was designed along with the Flying V and Explorer as part of the Modernist series but never put into production until 1982 when Gibson reissued the Moderne in extremely low numbers. This is one of those early 1980s reissues-- supposedly 1 of only 143 in the world! From my understanding, there were very few black models produced. Some sources say as few as 10 black examples were produced. There are a few swirls in the finish, some buckle rash on the back, and some cool checking in the paint, but is in good overall condition for a guitar that is nearly 35 years old. Gold hardware is in very good shape. Plastic film still on pick guard and back plates. Besides the exceptional value of this guitar as a collectors piece, this guitar just looks cool. Includes hard shell case.I urge you to please contact me with any questions prior to bidding and I will do my best to answer them.  Domestic purchase and shipping only.
