The Rickenbacker 480 is based on the iconic Roger Rossmeisl-designed 4000 series basses from the late ‘50s with the beautiful offset ‘cresting wave’ body shape The 6-string 480 model was only produced between 1973 and 1983, which makes it a relatively rare instrument today. Surprisingly never reissued, especially now that Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno is strongly associated with the model. This particular example has the very unusual black pickguard and headstock plate, making it very striking in contrast with the Mapleglo finish, and adding to it’s rarity. The guitar is in excellent condition, with a very comfortable neck and easy playing action. It looks and sounds fantastic, and very cool. It comes in a non original hard case.
