Description: Based on the original 1950s era student level acoustic archtop, the Gretsch G9555 New Yorker sports a classic look for the modern player. Its body features an arched solid spruce top and maple back and sides, a combination that produces a light, bright, yet punchy sound with charmingly woody overtones. A floating single-coil DeArmond pickup beautifully complements the body’s composition, adding a clean and genuine boost for players who choose to amplify via an acoustic amp for excellent transparency or a tube amp for a bit of sweet saturation.
