First Year, All Original, Version 1 with rare E4 serial number, 1989 Gun-metal Blue, (that actually looks green most of the time), Metallic Plus DX, Sperzal Tuners, (before the switch to Schallers), and ‘Silver-Silver-Blue Lace Sensor Pick-ups, (before the switch to blue-silver or gold-red). Body & Neck date 1989 and the one pot I could date was 1988. This guitar also has the Original/Fender Plus HSC. When I bought this guitar it spent 3 hrs in the shop getting cleaned up, fixed up and set up. The neck had no tension and had a shim in the neck pocket. Must have been before they knew what a micro-tilt was for. Also someone added newer locking knobs on two of the tuners. I left those alone. (see pic). It has signs of use but no damage, except the dent on fretboard, (see pics). Everything works great as it should, the rash on the back is very minor and the front has mostly pick marks with very few dinks and doinks. You would not be disappointed with this guitar ! ! !
