This guitar is a 2000 Fender custom shop American Classic model. It is a 1962 model with an 11 hole mint green pick guard. The bridge and tremolo are original to this custom shop build. The case is also original to the guitar. Specifics body:
You can find some of these Fender custom shop bodies for sale for $600 here on eBay. This body is a Cherryburst in color and has all the stamp work dating its origin between 1996 and 2000. I was told the Jc symbol was hand signed by John Cruz. My research on this suggests John Cruz was at this stage of body work during 96-2000. This is all un confirmed. It was also sold to me under the impression it was partially some of John Cruz early work. The neck:The Fender custom shop neck is of beautiful Birdseye maple ( as seen in pics) . The stamp date shows May 20 2000. Retail $1200. The fretboard is similar to a Madagascar rosewood very dense in its feel. The frets are in excellent shape and the dressing and feel are remarkable work to say the least. The truss adj. is at the heel. I've never needed to adjust the rod but the adjustment works as designed. It was tested. I was also told John Cruz finished this neck as well. I need to say this because I was told this when I purchased this set up. The last time I strung the guitar, the fit with the body and neck was excellent. The action is low and the frets are fast and everything you'd expect out of a Fender custom shop guitar built during its production time. The electronics were pulled and used on my 68 Hendrix build being early Abby originals.So, what you will need is, Your own select pickups and controls. I am not supplying pickups or controls in this sale. You will need to supply the electronics to fully load the pickguard This is an opportunity for someone to add his / her own electronics and you will have an amazing Fender custom shop guitar.
