What makes this guitar special? It's a Balboa! Fender Balboas are cult classics that have spawned fan pages, T-shirts, and even Re-issues. They have a loud booming sound, similar to a Martin™, with the payability & cutaway of a Fender® Stratocaster®. This very unique Fender dreadnought that was only produced for a few years in the mid ‘80s. Retail was $750.00 and the case was $150.00 in 1984, according to Fender.com. Real Rosewood back and sides Solid Spruce top with Scalloped X-bracing Solid Rosewood scalloped bridge w/abalone pins Double binding throughout body, neck, sides, and down middle of back Three-ring rosette Fender Tortoiseshell pick guard. Tear drop shape Mother-of-Pearl Cross In-lays Medium depth C shape profile neck 1-11/16" nut. Rosewood fingerboard, mahogany neck Florentine-style cutaway 22 full frets (with ease of access) 25.5" Scale Fender’s distinct Stratocaster-style headstock In-line, original Fender locking tuners Fender's factory-installed "Transparent Electronics System" with tone, volume, and notch (a feedback filter). Endpin-mounted jack. Solid metal bolt style Condition: I'll list this guitar in Great Vintage Condition overall. After 3-1/2 decades of performing it does possess various small dings, scrapes, surface cracks here and there, fret wear, and overall signs of use (and love), but overall she looks beautiful (see pictures). The Rosewood vibrates with natural resonance, as it always has, and the age dramatically has improved those good vibrations. Electronics: Fender electronics system with 1 x volume, 1 x tone, and 1 x notch filter control.  Weight: 5 lbs 1.5 oz (before hardshell case) Includes:
Hardshell Case with Key
Fender brand monogram strap. Thanks to you guys' help I've discovered and photographed the serial # which indicates it's an '84 Rosewood model. Picture available by request. Enjoy!
