Yairi was an honourable Master, esteemed by players and makers alike from across the globe;He made - by hand - really some of the finest guitars ever to be made, and his reluctance to use power tools - in favour of traditional craftsmanship - lends an organic quality to his work….This is one such example - and these early models are now increasingly difficult to find.∞ Quality Solid Cedar top - Solid Rosewood and African Mahogany make up the rest of the build. ∞ Tuners replaced otherwise all original and no repairs (we do not to restore the finish on these hand made guitars)These guitars possess real depth of character with an honest and friendly Mojo, perhaps due to them being hand made. There is a warmth and depth to the sound too, which is open and mature due to lots of use!The guitar has I believe been used professionally and has clearly been well loved and played with consideration. There are some signs of capo use at the back of the neck and a few much smaller marks on the sound-board, all part of the patina, all described in the photo's. Overall the cosmetic condition is excellent, especially for a nigh on fifty year old guitar - guitars are meant to be played after all!The structural condition is excellent with very minimal signs of movement - this is reflected in the playing action which is low, plays very well with fine intonation right across the board.We have lightly refurbished this guitar taking care to maintain the honest character, a new set of professional quality strings has also been fitted. The original hard case is included in the sale. (has seen a lot of use and probably seen better days! so if you prefer, then a period hard case of better condition can be included at no extra cost - please enquire)To summarise, you'd have to play your way through a number of very highly priced guitars to find one equivalent to this old friend in terms of tone quality, response, feel and complexity….
