Beautiful Fender American Vintage '59 Strat in sunburst. This is the later '59 model with the slab rosewood fingerboard and ply pick guard.The American Vintage series supersedes the earlier American Vintage Reissue range (AVRI), in Fender's desire to recreate the original instrument specification to even more accurate detail. Unlike the AVI's, the American Vintage comes fitted with a five-way selector, with a three way included in case you wish to revert to original switching specs.Plays beautifully. Condition-wise, there is ding on the upper horn, and several more on the bottom edge (see photos). The 'flash coat' nitro top coat has started to craze in a couple of places, adding to that vintage vibe that you can only get from the period-correct finish.
