This was the first reissue of the famed Fender Duo Sonic brought out in the 90s. I'm not sure on the exact build date of this model but I know they were in production at Fender's Mexico factory from 1993 - 1997 before being discontinued. These models are now a rare find and especially even harder to find in Arctic White. At the time of production these guitars did not garner much popularity due to having issues with intonation and rather bland sounding pickups, however this has been addressed in the many upgrades I have done on this particular guitar. Features/upgrades of this guitar include:- 22.7" Maple Neck with 10" Fretboard Radius (I find this particular fretboard radius provides a good in between for Chording and playing Lead).- 3 way pickup selector switch- Upgraded CTS solid shaft pots with Tone Cap upgrade and Switchcraft jack (as to replicate the original 60s Duo Sonic specs).- Copper Shielding under pickguard- Compensated nut to counter intonation and pitch issues- Fender Custom Shop Movable Brass Intonating Saddles to improve tuning stability and intonation (manual on how to adjust saddles included)- Thicker neck plate to improve sustain- Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s Bridge Pickup in Neck position and Seymour Duncan SSL52-1b Nashville Bridge Pickup in Bridge Position (when using the middle position on the pickup switch you get a nice out of phase/mid hump sound which has a unique twang to it).- GraphTech TUSQ lubricated string tree to improve pitch harmonics/sustain on high E and B string.- Upgraded strap buttons ready for strap locks. There are some nicks/scratches around the guitar of which I've tried to photograph and some discolouration to the colour (it's more of an Olympic/Cream White than Arctic White now). This is all to be expected with a 20yr old guitar that came out of the Mexico factory in its earlier days. The tuners could use an upgrade but still do their job none the less. I have a spare set of official Fender 'F' stamped 70s reissue tuners which are a perfect upgrade for this guitar. I'll throw them in if buyer wants to negotiate a higher sale price (otherwise they'll be sold separately).Free soft case included.Local pickup in Coorparoo, Brisbane QLD available.**Whilst I understand the safety and security of PayPal, I do prefer payment to be made via bank deposit/transfer.
