HISTORY
Gibson didn't make very many ukuleles compared to Martin, and even fewer of them were X braced. But this little 1930's beauty has an original X braced top which you can see from inside the soundhole. The edge-sunburst and script logo would be a great match for your old L-00 or J-35. This is the UKE-1 model with mahogany body, and includes an old carrying case, vintage string packets, and copy of the Easy Method for Ukulele instruction book. REPAIRS & SETUP
One end of the X brace had come loose, so my luthier reglued it and also repaired a very short crack at the edge of the top. Freshly strung with a set of Martin M600 strings and it sounds great and is a blast to play. It's fun to explore the sounds of the different bracing style. CONDITION
This Gibson UKE-1 is all original with the 1930's era Patent Peg tuners. The finish is original and very beautiful, with the usual checking and chips but overall a lovely little Gibson.
