1982 Fender JV Squier series, 62 reissue Precision bass. (Export model) The neck is dated 7thFebruary 1982,making this only a fewmonths into the production of these Japanese Fender /Squier. This bass has the large fender logo with the smaller squire logo at the end of the headstock. 3 tone Sunburst finish with a Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Original other than the case??? These export series JV basses had more in keeping with the original vintage basses than the Japanese domestic series - USA made pickups with cloth wires and vintage style reverse tuners. This bass is very clean with only a few bumps & scrapes and a small scratches. The neck is straight and clean as is the headstock. The frets are in great shape with very little wear. All electronics and hardware are in good working order. This bass has a big round and warm sound with a hint of extra top end due to the Maple neck in keeping with the vintage vibe. If your budget doesnt stretch to a pre CBS Fender then these Japanese made reissues are an excellent alternative. This bass has been fully set up with a smooth action by my technician Chris Ward.
