First a little history.
This instrument belongs to one of my customers who is also a good friend. Charlie Hord is his name and he was a close personal friend of Johnny Smith.
Charlie lives in Boulder, CO and is a retired CU Professor, a rocket scientist
(no really!). Johnny Smith ordered this guitar for Charlie through his store, Johnny Smith Music, in Colorado Springs in about 1963. Charlie says two modifications were made by Johnny:
#1, screw on jack was replaced by a 1/8" mini jack.
(Note that there is also a 1/4" jack on side of guitar.
      Both work.)
#2, tailpiece was replaced with Oettinger six finger unit shown in photos. The guitar was refreted by Denny Stevens when his guitar shop was located north of Golden, CO. Denny was also a good friend of mine and was a world class guitar builder. This guitar has not been played much for some time.
Has heavy strings but neck is straight as an arrow.
Note unfilled holes from original tailpiece in photo.
Case is original, handle has been replaced. It plays and sounds great and is in extremely fine condition.
