HISTORY
Very unique and rare Washburn model 702 ukulele with BLACK(!) binding and kite inlay. Made by Lyon & Healy in Chicago for their Washburn brand, this is an early model from around 1922 with serial number #936 stamped on the end of the headstock. Model number #702 and WAHBURN stamped on the back of the headstock. This is the only one I have ever seen. Includes the vintage hard case, vintage string packets, felt pick and ukulele pitch pipe. A real trip back in time to the 1920's when Hawaiian music was The Next Big Thing. FEATURES
Strikingly beautiful dark on light color scheme that is the opposite of every other vintage ukulele I've seen. The body is made from Nyssawood or Pearwood, which is lighter in color and has a lovely figure. I am not aware of any other vintage ukulele made from this wood. This old ukulele is in lovely shape with just a little bit of wear. I don't see any cracks. All the parts are original with no changes. The old hard case is very nice as well, the hinges are a little stiff to open. Freshly strung with a set of Martin M600 ukulele strings. Worldwide shipping available.
