For sale: 1970-72 Fender Music Master neck / Warmoth 1 pc. Ash body This instrument combines features from the Fender Music Master (Musicmaster), Duo Sonic, and Mustang and is put together using better-quality parts and workmanship than the originals. The neck is from a Music Master, but it has two pickups and no tremolo like a Duo Sonic, and the body is contoured for comfort like a Mustang. The neck is an early ‘70s vintage Fender neck which has been professionally re-fretted, and the fingerboard planed so it is an 8” radius now. The original nut has been re-slotted. The tuners are vintage-style Klusons (I think they may be made by Gotoh) – they look like ‘60s vintage tuners but the quality is definitely better than the stock “F” style tuners than came on these guitars in the ‘70s. The body is a one-piece ash Warmoth body in black/brown/yellow sunburst color. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Vintage Staggered single coils. The bridge has three Tele-style compensated brass saddles. Instead of the confusing factory 2 x 3 way switches with 9 switching combinations that yield only 4 sounds, this guitar has a simple Strat-style 3-way switch. Now you can easily go from the neck pickup to bridge and vice versa in the middle of a song. The switch creates a bit of a hump under the pickguard, which could probably be routed out.
