Description

1950's Gates SA-134 Tube Preamplifier / Program Amplifier - recapped, repaired, out of tolerance resistors replaced, fully functional and in regular use.  The SA-134 features 80+ db of gain, a fully single-ended circuit and excellent Gates transformers (probably made by UTC). The SA-134 is one of the nicest amplifiers made by Gates in the late 1940's and early 1950's. I use this amplifier plugged in close to my ribbon mics (before the snake) to bring ribbon mics up to line level and reduce the noise floor. The audio amplifier section of the SA-134 uses one 6J7, one 6SJ7, and one 6SN7 tube. The gain is adjustable with a screw pot on the top of the chassis. The original chassis is in average condition - but this preamp sounds fantastic. This SA-134 is self-powered and runs off of 120VAC, has an on/off switch, an XLR input and terminal posts for the output. If you need a terminal post to XLR cable made just let me know. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
