1920s Vintage Slingerland MayBell #26 Banjo Ukulele in Very good condition. A couple of slight surface cracks in the fingerboard that don't need to be addressed.We have never seen this model before. It is similar to the #24 but is open back. Looks like no resonator was ever present. Nice Birds-Eye Maple pot. High end nickel finished hardware with a warm patina. The tuners work well and are original equipment for this banjo uke - two of them have white buttons and two have black - we are not sure if this is the way it left the factory as we can't find photos of another #26 anywhere. Regardless, very cool.It compares very favorably with a Gibson UB2 / UB3 of the same era.This just got a new skin head and is set up with an Aquilla Nylgut Banjo Ukulele Set. Low action. Plays nice.
