Made In USA!
This is really cool. You are looking at a 1992 Gibson Chet Atkins CE Nylon String Acoustic-Electric. The CE stands for "Classical Electric" This is a guitar that really was built as a performing guitar. Essentially it is a nylon string electric guitar. The sound hole is just for looks. You have to play this with an amp.  Chet Atkins came to Gibson with the idea for this guitar, he wanted a solid body guitar that would not feed back on stage but still had a great acoustic sound. What Gibson came back to Chet with was this, the CE model. It is a solid body nylon strung guitar with acoustic chambers to assist with the acoustic sound. This guitar has a nice smooth sound when plugged in, equipped with a volume and tone control, and the often over looked volume control for each individual string located in the body cavity.Gibson introduced the Chet Atkins CE nylon string guitar in 1981, and they proved popular because they allowed for feedback-free playing at amplified stage volumes. Produced from 1981 to 2005. These guitars are heavier than one might expect, but that is on purpose. The lack of a large resonating chamber and the added weight of the mostly solid body design helps to defeat feedback, especially on a nylon string guitar used for amplified performance.
The necks are mahogany with a neck joint location at the 12th fret – like a classical guitar, and the scale is 25 1/2″. And they feature a multi-element piezo bridge pickup with a battery-powered preamp that balances the output. The instrument featured here has three controls: Volume, Treble and Bass. Additionally, one can actually adjust the output for each string individually by adjusting one of the six trim pots located inside the control cavity!
A great guitar for onstage performing. Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits is a notable user of the Chet Atkins.

There are a couple of small dings and chips on the back of the neck. Fretboard and Headstock in great shape. Gibson Case has scuffs, scratches and tears in the tolex. All latches work. Dripping with "Mojo" It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
