1960s Martin Style 1-T Tenor Ukulele Uke with Case Very Good ConditionUp for sale is my Martin Style 1-T Tenor ukulele, complete with an old soft shell case. This used to belong to my father. It is 100% original, and in very good condition.It features the black/white/tortoise binding. Of course, it is not real tortoise, but celluloid made to look like tortoise. No animals were harmed in the making of this instrument.I believe this is from the early 1960s. I bought it used from Matt Umanov in 1982 as a gift for my father.There is a bit of finish crazing, and some scratch marks in the finish, but then it’s roughly 55 years old! There is a crack on the bass side of the back on the edge of the lower bout, but it is not at all visible from the inside, so it does not seem to go through the wood. It had that crack when I bought it 34 years ago, so it seems to be very stable. I can press on both sides of the crack, and it does not budge at all.The instrument is in absolutely perfect playing condition with low action and excellent tuners, which do not slip at all. It was restrung last year with Aquila Nylgut strings, but it hasn’t been played much since then, and it still sounds marvelous.It comes with a soft shell case, which is a bit too big for it. My father traveled the world with this uke, and the case has the stickers to show it. Naturally, he never checked it, but did like to get stickers from the places he had been.The instrument comes with a 48-hour approval period. If, within the 48-hour period, you decide that it is not for you, simply return it to me in the same condition as I sent it out, with full insurance, and I will refund your purchase price, minus shipping to you.
