Here we have a barely played 2016 Charvel USA Custom Shop San Dimas in a beautiful trans purple finish! Combine that finish with the creme pickups and black nickel hardware, and you have one stunning guitar! This guitar is in almost perfect condition to my eye--I honestly can't find anything wrong with it, but I'll give this a 9.5/10 rating to be safe in the unlikely case that I missed something. There are no breaks, repairs, neck pocket cracks (common on bolt-on guitars), etc. I bought this guitar brand new within the last few weeks and have sadly decided to let it go, as I just haven't been able to get comfortable with the the humbucker/single coil/single coil setup, and I'm past the 14-day return period.This originally came with a Dimarzio Super Distortion humbucker in the bridge and Dimarzio HS-3 single coils in the middle and neck, with a 5-way blade, and volume and tone pots. I've had this baby hot-rodded with a Dimarzio Super 3 in the bridge, a Dimarzio Chopper in the middle, and Dimarzio Air Norton S in the neck--and I've had the tone pot replaced with a Dimarzio 500K push/pull pot. All three pickups are wired to this push/pull tone pot for coil-splitting, giving you the choice between humbucking and single-coil tones on all three pickups! That, combined with the 5-way switch, make this a ridiculously versatile guitar. The entire install was done by a professional guitar tech, and he did an amazing job with it. But how does it play and sound? Amazing on both counts. This guitar has been set up for 9-42 gauge strings, with just the right amount of neck relief and comfortably low string height. The compound radius (12-16 inches) fretboard is super fast, and the slim Charvel neck profile is truly second-to-none in terms of comfort. This is a guitar which actually will make you play better. The sound is fantastic--this is a perfectly calibrated pickup setup (at least to my ear) in terms of power balance between pickups, and overall tone. If I weren't so stuck on dual humbucker setups, this one would be a keeper for sure.This guitar sells new (you can find them with the stock pickup configuration on Musician's Friend) for $2699. I'm willing to let this go with very little play time (maybe 8 hours total) for 1699--you're getting a grand off what is basically a brand new guitar here. That price will get you free shipping (either Fedex Ground or USPS Priority Mail, whichever is cheaper).
