This is a 1936 Olds Military trumpet in very good original condition. The manufacture date is based on Robb Stewart's revised serial number estimates, but the estimates from this era could be off a year or two. The Military model was only made for a few years in the early to mid 1930's.More information about the rare Olds Military model can be found in the 1932 Olds Catalog posted at Olds Central. It has the Hand Hammered bell which was standard on Olds Military trumpets. It has the "larger" LM Bore (for Large Medium, or .460) which was not yet the standard bore on Bb trumpets at the time. Amazingly, this horn appears to have original lacquer that is almost completely intact. There is a small bit of corrosion in the leadpipe and a small spot of red rot on the tuning slide crook. A few other areas of wear to the lacquer, but the hand hammered bell looks quite amazing. Valve compression is good and all slides are smooth.This trumpet clean inside and out. All slides are smooth. Engraving is sharp and clear.Matching serial numbers on valves.Comes with original case.
