Fender 'American Special' P-bass (2014)- Candy apple red- Made in USA. - Serial number: US14027984- American alder body- Maple neck with 'C' Shape profileThis American made Fender Precision bass was newly purchased in January 2015. Initially it was used for practicing at home until I joined a band. Since then it has been used at 6 live gigs and on the recording of a full length rock album. No structural or electrical/hardware issues whatsoever. Some light play wear on scratch plate and on the reverse of body which does not show up in photos. There is a small paint mark on the tip of the headstock which probably could be cleaned off though absolutely no damage to the wood itself. The intonation is spot on and the strings stay in tune from one week to the next... the mark of a quality instrument! The 'C' shape neck profile is just wonderful and so comfortable to play. Sound wise this is just what you would expect from a genuine Fender P-bass. The split coil pickup produces the satisfying Fender bottom end as heard on so many classic recordings. I purchased this P-bass for £825 in January 2015 and have decided to list it at the same price of a new Mexican made Standard Fender bass (although I welcome sensible offers). I've owned Mexican Fenders and while very decent these American Specials are a cut above as you would expect. Price includes Fender strap and hard case in used condition plus original owners booklet.
