Description
Brand: Slingerland Exact Year: 1940

This is a mid 1940's Slingerland Radio King Drumset. The listing is for the drums only. 12x28, 9x13, 12x14, 16x16, 6 1/2x14. The snare looks like a Rolling Bomber with the wooden snare throwoff. The snare throwoff still works fine. Nice sounding drum. Looks like the original wooden lugs have been replaced at some point. It is a solid maple shell with maple reinforcing hoops.
Bass drum & 16" tom have calfskin heads. The BD, 13" & 14" toms have mahogany shells with 3 maple reinforcing hoops. 16" has mahogany with 2 maple reinforcing hoops and no bottom rim. The bass drum & snare have extra holes and the wrap have some cracks. I acquired this set from the grand daughter of the original owner. He played this set for many years before he passed. This set is over 70 years old and shows the signs of ware you would expect from a working drum set that has been carried from gig to gig through the years.
I prefer local pickup because of the size of the bass drum. No shipping charges if picked up locally.
If you want it shipped contact me first to make other shipping arrangements. Buyer will pay all shipping costs. Feel free to ask any questions.
